Check out this cool photo series on American life.

Reading HW: Please read Ragged Dick (get over the title) up to Chapter Six.
HW: How would you characterize Dick?  What leads to his success?

Tuesday February 10th
Minutes:
Reading HW: Read to page 27 of Death of a Salesman.
HW: Please annotate 5 references to competition by indicating the page number, a short three/four word excerpt of your quote, and a short explanation of the quotes connection to our theme of the American Dream.

Wednesday February 11th
Minutes:
Reading HW: "50 Questions to Ask Before Applying to College"
HW: Please prepare questions for your visit with our school's college advisers.

Thursday February 12th
Minutes:
Reading HW: Read to page 53 and stop when Biff starts talking.
HW: Students should identify which character they identify with the most and why.  Students should find a moment in our reading, focusing on a particular quote, that reflects how and why they empathize with Willy or Biff or Happy or Bernard or any of our other characters.

Friday February 13th
Minutes:
Reading HW: Finish Act One
HW: How would you characterize Linda?  How does Miller write his female character?  Do you pity her?  Empathize with her?  Chastise her?  Please use evidence to support your point.
