Reading HW: N/A
HW: Bring in something that you consider to be a piece of "literature."  Be prepared to explain what makes your artifact a piece of literature.  Is your artifact  a piece of "good" literature?  How might you differentiate between good and bad literature?

Thursday Sept. 12th
Reading HW: "Hills Like White Elephants" by Ernest Hemingway
HW: Is this story a piece of "good" literature?  Why or why not?  What is the subtext of this story?

Friday Sept. 13th
Reading HW: "The Indian Camp" by Ernest Hemingway
HW: Conduct a close reading of the text.  Using the text in your responses, please create four observations, ask three questions, and create three hypotheses based upon the text of this story.

    HW: Please read about Hemingway's iceberg here. What is subtext? How does this story utilize subtext? What does this story discuss that might not be so obvious to the naked eye? Please write a response to be checked as homework.
    I think you made a mistake. There is no link on the iceberg in the junior hw
