Welcome New Students!
Hello and welcome to Identity in European Literature.
This blog will be a central hub for our studies. I will be posting homework assignments, extra credit discussions, minutes listings, and other pertinent information on a weekly basis. Please utilize this resource; it will be difficult to succeed in my class without doing so.
For homework tonight, Tuesday, January 29th, 2013, I would like you to access and read the course syllabus. The syllabus can be accessed here, via dropbox. If you have any questions, please let me know in class on Wednesday. Additionally please create a name placard to help your fellow students (as well as me) learn your name as quickly as possible.
Finally, I'm going to ask you to post to this page. Please write your name (or any nickname you would like to be addressed as), which period class we have together, and what you're reading. Please note, I am not necessarily asking what book you are reading. Instead, I am asking what you read, be it manga, web comics, Reddit, or any other media.
I look forward to working with you this semester.

I tend to veer towards realistic fiction, but I do nitpick from other genres of fiction as well, be it fantasy (The Mark of Athena, for example), mystery (Agatha Christie!), sci-fi (Wrinkle in Time), and some historical fiction. If asked to name books I've read in these specific genres, I'd be able to name many more realistic fiction books.
I read plays as well. I started writing stage plays last year and I also act, so I try to read a wide variety of styles - Shakespeare to contemporary plays, and the librettos of Broadway musicals (Next to Normal).
When I can't read books, it's fanfiction I turn to. Mostly fluff, and if not fluff, angst.
The Bible.
I don't read periodicals so much, but I'm trying to read more reviews on stuff pertaining to the arts to help my writing for the Spec's A&E department.
Not a lot of non-fiction, but I try. Some poetry, but I can't think of favorite poets off the top of my head.

I also sometimes enjoy reading comic books since they have pictures that can draw you into the story more.

Hi, it appears that you're a fan of music. What songs are the best of their genres? I want to sample some new genres this week with my new Beats by Dre Studio, which deliver the music the way the author intended. Also, I need some loudspeakers so that I can hear audio that is undisrupted by the folds of my ear. I know for sure that I'm getting Bose (they're the best), but should I connect them directly to the computer or use an amp? In the event that I choose to get an amp and Lautsprecher, should I choose the Bose 901 or 301? I don't know which one to get; they're both good. I'm tired of my home theater having no bass at all with these KRK paperweights. Additionally, what file format should I use to store my music? I've heard about .psd, .wav, .flac, and .mpng. I don't want to be hearing audio that's been distorted by digital hackers, and they need to sound good on my new speakers. Thank you for your help.
