Work for the Week of January 13th - Freshmen

Monday January 13th
Reading HW:
HW: Draft Day.

Here are the question from today's draft day:

Comic
-Is the comic cohesive?  Do you know how to read it?  Where to start?  Which panels come after which?
-Can you see how the comic is influenced by Small and Yang?
-When referring to panels, does the author explain the panel’s location on the page in the context (and not in the citation)?
-Does the author explicitly explain how their comic has been influenced by Small or Yang (or both)?  Note, you do not have to have influences from both pieces for this assignment.
-Does the author follow the typical conventions of writing?  First person is acceptable for this piece.

Analysis
-Does the author create a singular thesis that speaks to both topic sentences?  Is the phrasing clear?
-Does the author create clear topic sentences that directly address the thesis?
-Does the author clearly explain how Small utilizes sound or silence?  To what effect?
-When referring to panels, does the author explain the panel’s location on the page in the context (and not in the citation)?

-Does the author follow the typical conventions of writing?  Third person should be used for this piece.
